The "Dark" Sides to One's Personality....
I've always explored my "dark" sides/selves. The things I'm insecure about, the things I fear on a deeper level - no I'm not talking about spiders or something... I'm talking like existential angst/dread. I used to go on a site. I stopped pursuing it, but had one fond memory of a conversation I had with someone.... He asks me if I have a boyfriend/am actively seeking a serious relationship. I answer no. Further into the conversation he says that if I am seeking a relationship, I must fix any "personality" flaws/insecurities. To quote "Some people get into relationships thinking their problems will be fixed - but they only amplify them". From experience - an extremely vivid one - this is 100 percent true. See, this past year has been chaotic for me. Relationships, feelings, school, friendships, family shit - all one big mess. Well I don't like a guy who's controlling about other aspects of my life, but when a guy places an ultimatum saying something like "listen if you don't drop the other guys - I'll just leave you. I'm not interested in this bullshit." Man I'd do anything for that guy. It's not about standing up for me - it's about standing up for himself. I've been with guys in the past who just let me walk all over them, but a guy who puts me in my place like that just makes me want to be with them.... I think that alone would make me commit.

I think he wanted it to be a "surprise". A part of me really appreciates that... but I couldn't have a guy trying to control what I wore or anything like that. None of them do or have, but it's probably why I wanted to marry BA also. He was the perfect kind of possessive and controlling. And at the same time, he was passive and treated me really well. Not saying the others haven't - they have.

If he stood up for himself and what he wanted, he could've just made things easier (and prevented a black eye) by simply telling me: Scarlett, this is what I want: something serious - potentially a marriage and children. Is this something you would want as well? I wouldn't mind if he was a little aggressive about it - to be honest. But it's an aggressive, assertive. If we had something serious, I might've done it, all he would have to do is ask.... But no, people assume things about me, that I wouldn't commit etc etc. But I would, with someone special. See there was one time when I wanted to play games, but I don't know... I'm not really into it anymore. I can be a bit of a troll... but I'm honest when I need and want to be.

He's made a lot of music that means so much to me, and I feel like a relationship with him would cloud everything.... Not to mention the fact that his ex truly has some sort of influence, and her music helped me get through SO MUCH. A lot of the past music he's made had shaped my childhood.
